UNESCO Symposium on Sea Level Rise and the Future of Coastal Settlements

Dr. Keren Bolter, Coastal Risk's Science Director, Speaks at UNESCO Symposium on Sea Level Rise and the Future of Coastal Settlements

The UNESCO Chair in Sustainable Urban Quality and Urban Culture (UNESCO Chair) with the Consortium for Hydro-generated Urbanism (CHU) University of Florida are co-organizing a two week international workshop examining specific problems of sea level rise and its related effects on urban structures (financial centers, tourist settlements, leisure centers) and infrastructures (water management, mobility, energy generation) as exemplified in the Miami-Dade region and applicable world-wide.

Scholars, students and professions from around the globe will be introduced to these pressing issues by traveling to New York City and to Miami and will subsequently gather at the University of Florida to participate in a 5-day interdisciplinary workshop intended to generate integrated proposals for urban resiliency (March 7th-11th).

More information on the symposium can be found here.

Client Testimonials

See What Clients Say About the Value of CRC’s Products

"Duke Properties is a provider of world-class service in the property management business. Having had personal experiences with Superstorm Sandy, we wanted our clients to understand their flooding risks and be prepared. Our management used Coastal Risk's innovative flood and storm models on our private residences. Understanding the value to us, personally, we are now integrating flood prediction modeling into our business processes. Additionally, the staff at Coastal Risk is very knowledgeable and responsive and will take the time needed to explain the model results and discuss cost-effective, adaptation options. This is an exciting new product for the property management industry, which will help us make more informed decisions in the future as climate changes."
